Congratulations to BSPS’ Point of Care Testing (POCT) team for winning the NHS England Chief Scientific Officer’s award for Outstanding Healthcare Science Service of the Year at the Advancing Healthcare Awards 2025 on Friday, 23 May 2025.   

Th team’s nomination was based on demonstrating a number of achievements, including:

• A high quality of service delivery;
• Benefits to patients and service users;
• A focus on developing our workforce; and
• Local and national leadership.

In receiving the award, POCT Speciality Lead and Consultant Clinical Scientist, Katy Heaney said she was ‘so super proud for the team – we are truly driving forward high quality use of POCT in acute and community care.’
